What is IAESTE?

IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) is an international, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organisation founded in 1948. It brings together students and academics worldwide and promotes the professional and personal development of students and young graduates, regardless of nationality, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender.

Through its activities, IAESTE significantly contributes to the internationalisation of universities and the strengthening of global professional networks.

Benefits for Research Groups and Supervisors

Participation in the IAESTE programme offers several advantages to host institutions:

  • strengthening international cooperation and expanding professional networks
  • opportunities to establish long-term research partnerships
  • welcoming motivated international students who bring new expertise and perspectives
  • supporting the internationalisation of the department and faculty
  • increasing the international visibility of the research group

Experience shows that internships often lead to further collaboration, including joint publications, continued studies at the doctoral level, or participation in international research projects.
