Christmas Party

This year’s Christmas gathering of the Department of Chemical Engineering at UCT Prague once again proved to be a wonderful and well-established tradition. The event brought together not only the deprtment’s staff and students from all levels of study, but also many of our alumni, which further highlighted the special character of this annual meeting. It was a great pleasure to reconnect with former colleagues and students, reflect on shared experiences, and symbolically bring the year to a close together.

The evening was marked by a relaxed, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere and offered an excellent opportunity to meet outside the usual daily routine of laboratories and offices. There was plenty of delicious food, accompanied by beer and wine, which contributed to the overall comfort and good mood of the event.

Traditional highlights of the programme included the much-loved raffle with “funny” gifts, which once again brought a lot of laughter, as well as the darts tournament, providing friendly competition across generations. A new addition this year was karaoke, which especially those who stayed later enthusiastically embraced and which added a lively and entertaining finale to the evening.

Special thanks go to our PhD students, who once again took care of the organisation of the event, as well as to everyone else who contributed. The Christmas gathering once again confirmed its role not only as a pleasant social occasion, but also as a valuable opportunity to wish each other a joyful holiday season, share news, and celebrate the end of the year together.
